How long before I can walk on the screed?
Foot traffic from 24 to 48 hours, depending on the screed type and the conditions on the day. Light trades can usually come back in 3 to 5 days. Tiling and timber floors need a proper moisture check first.
How thick does liquid screed go?
Typically 40 to 80mm. On underfloor heating we recommend 50mm cover over the pipes for Cemfloor Therm. We confirm the right build-up when we review your site.
Does it work with underfloor heating?
Yes, and it's what we'd recommend over sand and cement. Liquid screed flows around the pipes with no voids, so the heating transfers properly. We pressure test the UFH before the pour and witness the sign-off.
What access do you need?
Our truck and pump pull up like a concrete delivery. We can pump up to around 60m horizontally. Tight gates, dropped kerbs, gravel driveways and weight limits are all worth flagging up front so we can plan it.
How long does the pour take?
Most domestic pours are done in half a day. We can lay up to about 1,500m² in a day with our mobile plant on bigger jobs.
When does the floor need to be ready by?
We aim to pour within 2 to 4 weeks of you accepting the quote. Sooner if the diary allows. Larger commercial jobs get a fixed slot once the programme is agreed.
Do you supply the screed or just install it?
Both. We batch on site with our own Transmix plant, so you only pay for what we pour. No third-party supplier, no return loads.
What paperwork do I get?
Pre-pour checks, batch reference, ambient temperature, photos and a customer sign-off, all in your inbox the day we pour. Plus an aftercare certificate.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. Single-room refurbs and extensions are bread and butter. There's a minimum mobilisation charge to cover getting the truck to site, but no minimum area.
How do I pay?
Most jobs are invoiced after the pour with 7 to 14 day terms. For larger projects we agree a stage payment up front. BACS, card and cheque all fine.
Where do you cover?
Stockport-based, with regular pours across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, North Wales, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire. Further afield is often possible. Just ask.
Is liquid screed worth it over sand and cement?
For most modern build-ups, yes. It's flatter, thinner, faster to lay, less prone to cracking, and pairs much better with underfloor heating. Sand and cement still has its place for some heavy-duty industrial slabs.
